Units of competency
These are the 5 core units of competency Access Canberra requires to register as an assistant agent in the ACT. They are the core of the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. On completion you receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment, which you use to apply for your registration.

Entry requirements
To enrol with Archer

- You should be 18 or older
- Comfortable studying and being assessed in English
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI), which we can help you set up
To register (Access Canberra)
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide a police certificate issued within the last 2 months
- Be a fit and proper person, not disqualified
- Be employed by a licensed agent to carry out work
- Complete a further 5 CPP41419 units within 12 months of registering

What do I get when I finish?+–
You receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the 5 core units of CPP41419. You use this to register as an assistant agent with Access Canberra.
Is the ACT entry credential a Class 3 licence?+–
No. The ACT does not have a Class 3. The entry credential is an assistant agent registration, which sits below the Class 2 and Class 1 agent licences. You work under the supervision of a licensed agent.
Do I have to do more training after I register?+–
Yes. The ACT requires you to complete a further 5 units from CPP41419 within 12 months of registering. We can set you up to continue straight into those units.
Can I work on my own as an assistant agent?+–
No. An assistant agent must be employed by, and work under the supervision of, a licensed agent. You cannot hold trust money or sign agency agreements in your own right.
Do I need experience to start?+–
No. The course is open access and designed for people new to real estate in the ACT.
