Common Questions

ACT Real Estate Course FAQs

What real estate licence do I need to work in the ACT?

The ACT uses a three-class structure. Class 3 (Assistant Agent) is the entry level, Class 2 is the full agent licence, and Class 1 is required to be a Licensee in Charge. Requirements can vary — speak with the Archer team before enrolling to confirm the right pathway for your situation.

What is the difference between Class 3, Class 2 and Class 1 in the ACT?

Class 3 allows you to work as an assistant agent under a Class 1 licensee. Class 2 is a full agent licence allowing independent practice. Class 1 is required to be a Licensee in Charge — responsible for a real estate business or trust account.

Are Archer Institute's ACT real estate courses nationally recognised?

Yes. Archer Institute is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45020) under the national vocational education and training regulator, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). All qualifications are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). In the ACT, our training is designed to meet the educational requirements for the relevant licence pathway set by ACT Access Canberra, where applicable.

How long does the ACT real estate course take?

All courses are 100% online and self-paced with no fixed class times. Completion time depends on how many hours per week you study — most students finish within a few weeks to a couple of months.

Can I study while working full-time?

Yes — online delivery means you access your course materials 24/7 through the student portal, fitting study around your existing schedule. Many Archer Institute students work full-time while completing their qualification.

What do I do after completing my ACT course?

After completing your qualification, you apply for your licence or registration with ACT Access Canberra. Your Archer Institute certificate is submitted as part of that application. The Archer team can guide you through the next steps — just ask.
