Common Questions

VIC Real Estate Course FAQs

What real estate licence do I need in Victoria?

Victoria has two main licence levels. The Agent's Representative course lets you work under a licensed estate agent. The Estate Agent Licence is the full licence required to operate independently or manage your own agency. Requirements can vary — contact the Archer team to confirm the right pathway.

What is an Agent's Representative and what can they do?

An Agent's Representative is authorised to carry out real estate functions — such as listing and selling property — on behalf of a licensed estate agent. They work under the supervision of a licensed principal or director.

How long does the VIC Agent's Representative course take?

The course is 100% online and self-paced with no fixed class times. Most students complete it within a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on how many hours per week they can dedicate to study.

Are Archer Institute's VIC courses nationally recognised?

Yes. Archer Institute is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45020) under the national vocational education and training regulator, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). All qualifications are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). In Victoria, our training is designed to meet the educational requirements for the relevant licence pathway set by Consumer Affairs Victoria, where applicable.

Can I study while working full-time?

Yes — online delivery means you can access your course materials 24/7 through the student portal, fitting study around your existing job and life commitments. Most Archer Institute students study while working.

What do I do after completing my VIC course?

After completing your qualification, you apply to Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) for your agent's representative approval or estate agent licence. Your Archer Institute certificate is submitted as part of that application. The Archer team can guide you on next steps.
