Units of competency
The Victorian Estate Agent's Licence requires the CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management), which is 12 units, seven core plus five electives. The seven core units are fixed and shown below. The electives build agency leadership, marketing and business skills. On completion you receive the nationally recognised Diploma.

Entry requirements
To enrol with Archer
- Hold your agent's representative units
- You should be 18 or older
- Comfortable studying and being assessed in English
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI), which we can help you set up
To hold the licence (Consumer Affairs Victoria)
- Complete both the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice and the CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) within the last 5 years
- At least 12 months full-time experience as an agent's representative in the last 3 years
- Be 18 or older
- Be a fit and proper person, no fraud, dishonesty, drug or violence offence in the past 10 years
- Not be insolvent under administration
- Hold professional indemnity insurance once licensed

What do I get when I finish?+–
You receive the full, nationally recognised CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management), the qualification Consumer Affairs Victoria requires for an Estate Agent's Licence.
Do I need work experience as well as the Diploma?+–
Yes. Consumer Affairs Victoria requires at least 12 months full-time experience as an agent's representative within the three years before you apply, on top of completing the Certificate IV and the Diploma.
What can a licensed estate agent do?+–
A licensed estate agent can operate or manage their own agency, be the officer in effective control, run the agency trust account, and employ and supervise agent's representatives. It is the top of the Victorian pathway.
Which elective units will I study?+–
The seven core units are fixed by the Diploma. The electives offered by Archer Institute are listed above.
How long does it take?+–
It is online and self-paced with up to 12 months of access. Most students finish sooner, studying at a pace that suits them.
